Booking Conditions

Deposit

A 25% deposit is payable on confirmation of your booking along with the security deposit of £300/300€. This should be returned within 7 days to confirm the booking. We only take bank transfers or payment via PayPal (including an admin charge for their services).

Full Payment

Full payment is due 60 days before your arrival date. If this is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to seek an alternative booking, with the cancellation charges then coming into effect.

Tourist Tax

For the first time in our area, the tourist tax known as “tax de sejour” is being levied. The tax is already payable in most of France and Europe in all types of holiday accommodation from apartments to campsites to five star hotels.

For our gite, the charge is €1.10 per adult – i.e. anyone 18 years and over – per day, and is payable locally at the end of your stay. This can’t be included in our prices, as it is varies depending on the make up of your group, and we have to account for it separately to the tax man.

Cancellation

Should you need to cancel your booking for any reason, the following charges will be payable. The charges are based on the cost of the basic holiday not including any additional services.

  • More than 60 days – we will refund 100% of the amount paid.
  • Between 30 and 60 days days or less – we will refund 50% of the amount paid, unless we can rebook the property, when we will refund any payment to the level of the subsequent booking.
  • Less than 30 days – no refunds, unless we can rebook the property, when we will refund any payment to the level of the subsequent booking.

Refundable Security deposit

A refundable security deposit of £300 is payable with the 25% deposit.

We reserve the right to charge you for any costs relating to the gite being left excessively dirty, any breakages or damage to the material structure of the property (gite and pool).

The deposit will be refunded on departure less any deductions for items listed above.

This is not intended to be a sneaky means of increasing the cost of your holiday and it is hoped that we will never have to levy any such charge except in exceptional circumstances.

Liability

We cannot be held responsible for the personal safety and security of guests (or their belongings) while on our premises or using items supplied by ourselves. You remain responsible for your own personal safety at all times. Children should be supervised by an adult at all times, particularly in and around the pool area.

French insurance works differently to the UK. You are responsible for any damage to the property as we cannot claim under our insurance for damage caused by guests. It is therefore essential that you take out personal insurance that covers you for accidental damage and personal accident and personal liability. We reserve the right to request a copy of your personal liability insurance.

Occupancy

The gite is priced per week, irrespective of number of occupants. Only the number of people stated on the booking form may occupy the property, even if the maximum occupancy is not reached. The maximum occupancy of the property is five (5) people. The maximum number must not be exceeded at any time.

Pets

Dogs, cats or other pets are not allowed in the gite as we need to keep the gite as hypo-allergenic as possible for those guests who may suffer from allergies to pet hair or dander.

Behaviour

Should we consider your behaviour to be unacceptable, we reserve the right to ask you to leave the gite. No refunds will be made.

Cleaning

Please leave the gite as you find it. Alternatively you may wish to take advantage of the end of stay cleaning service – see additional information.

Please check all details carefully.
